We specialise in the best of local real ales at The George. We usually have a couple of guest ales available to sample and you’ll almost certainly love our regular ales too. These include beers from the Great Oakley Brewery, which is no distance up the road, and from the Vale Brewery in Brill.

Vale Pale Ale, 4.2% abv, Vale Brewery Company, Brill.

Hops from across the Atlantic together with Kent's finest deliver an assertive, dry hoppy ale with a pronounced malt background. Gold Medal winner at the 2007 Reading Beer Festival.

Very pale, slightly sweet with pleasant fruity aftertaste.

Timothy Taylor Landlord, 4.3% abv, Timothy Taylor & Co Ltd, Keighley, West Yorks.

The drinkers’ favourite, a 4.3% classic pale ale with a complex citrus and hoppy aroma. And it has won more awards than any other beer, winning both CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain and the Brewing Industry Challenge Cup four times.

  • Knowle Spring 4.2% abv - An easy to drink yet complex beer that appeals to those who prefer a lighter, refreshing style but still want the depth of flavour that Taylor's beers deliver. Brewed by Timothy Taylor Keighley, West Yorkshire.

  • Harpers 4.3% abv Named after Harpers Brook, a tributary of the River Nene which flows behind our original brewery in the village of Great Oakley. It is a traditional English rich mid-brown bitter with a malty taste and slight hints of chocolate and citrus in the finish. Brewed by Great Oakley Brewery, Tiffield.
